Recently, as Publisher of the Richmond Register, he’s most proud of creating and producing the first Local Hero’s Award program, honoring local first responders and other heroes in education and non-profit work. This original event drew 110 guests and established a strong legacy to build upon in the Richmond, KY area.
As a community leader and past Market President & Publisher of Business First, Gary took the newspaper from a legacy print to digital-first news and media leader and strengthened their event offerings from 8 to 14 larger events complemented by 20 smaller events, including timely roundtables, educational forums and the regionally recognized Bourbonomics – many of which are the hallmarks of Business First today.
Gary calls the Kentuckiana area home and is a graduate of Hanover College, Hanover, Indiana. He stays on top of changes in media and communication and recently earned online certificates in ChatGPT, Fundraising Essentials and Bullseye Targeted Training.
